In-school classes

For 3 - 17 year olds

Regular drama sessions in the classroom

We currently run regular weekly and monthly in-school sessions for 3-8 year old pupils at the Panda Learning Center, 3-6 year olds at Happy Child Pre-school and 8-10 year olds at Riverside International School.

Classes combine fun drama games and confidence building activities, alongside theatre techniques such as devising, character work, movement and voice.

Please get in touch if you'd like us to teach drama in your school!

School Workshops

For 3 - 17 year olds

Bespoke school workshops for native and non-native English speakers

Prague Youth Theatre School Workshops can take place in-school or at our venue in the centre of Prague. Workshops use theatre to enhance school curricular units; engaging students and teachers in active learning while providing tools for artistic expression, successful group interaction and improved self-confidence.

All classes begin with a physical and vocal warm-up to help students focus and prepare, plus acting games are incorporated throughout the program. As active participants, classroom teachers also gain exposure to proven arts-based teaching techniques for continued use in their classes, which provides a forum for creative and academic expression. The workshops also encourage development of concentration, discipline, teamwork, confidence and public speaking.

School workshops we have run in the past include -

Panda and Central Point School - Week-long workshop culminating in a performance for parents
American Academy in Prague - Devising and improvisation
Deutsche Schule Prag - performance of the PYT Advanced play 'Bassett'.
The Prague British School - supporting Year 7 students in their end of term performance and Year 2 students during literacy week.
Nessie English Preschool - as part of 'Arts Day'.
Park Lane International School - 'Pirate' workshop to support their scheme of work.
Lycée Francais de Prague - Saturday workshop for 'Book Day'.
Gymnázium Nad Stolou - Introduction to Shakespeare.
Dino Schools of Prague - Drama games.
International School of Prague - Prague Theatre Experience - 'Week Without Walls'. A customised, 4-day 'real life' theatre experience.

Testimonials

'Can we have drama every day?' This is what our students requested after a week-long PYT drama workshop! Don't hesitate sign-up now!

Lana Gergisak MA, School Director, Central Point Elementary School, Panda Learning Center

Our students really enjoyed the devising workshop. The instructor was extremely knowledgeable and had a great energy with the kids. They learned so much about not only drama fundamentals such as vocal work, improvisation, and physicality but also teamwork, focus, and creative expression.

Erin Picardy, Middle School Teacher, American Academy in Prague

When preparing for the end of year 7 show, we asked PYT to help students to come out of their shell, to be more expressive on stage. Through different activities and games, students practised a variety of acting techniques which helped them to perform well.

Oliver Schlaich, Year 8 class teacher, The Prague British School

During ISP's 'Week Without Walls' program, Adam's approach was exactly what we were looking for in the sense that he is a theatre professional with experience as an actor and director - yet he is also a teacher who is skilled at structuring sessions that challenge and inspire students of all abilities.

Vicki Close, Head of Drama, International School of Prague

The workshop that PYT ran for us allowed the children to learn about feelings and emotions in a fun and different way. Adam and his team's direction allowed the children to express and enjoy themselves right from the start. This was the first workshop that PYT ran for us but hopefully will not be the last!
